Why Do We Dream About Someone?
Dreams are one of the ways the brain organizes memories and processes emotions while we sleep. The people who appear in your dreams aren't always there because of who they are in real life. More often, they represent feelings, qualities, relationships, or experiences that your subconscious is trying to understand. Psychologists generally believe dreams serve several important purposes. They help us process emotions from our daily lives, strengthen memories, work through unresolved conflicts, and explore thoughts that may not be fully conscious during the day. This is why someone you barely know can suddenly become the focus of a dream, while someone close to you may disappear from your dreams for months. Rather than asking, "Why did I dream about this person?" it can be more useful to ask, "What does this person represent to me?"
